The only con that I have, if you look at the ad photo, it appears that the unit that is sitting on the mount would clear the suction cup, say for a radar detector. Take a close look at the ad photo. Notice that the suction cup is mounted vertically. Windshields are not typically vertical. When the mount is stuck to the windshield, because of the angle, the radar detector will not clear the suction cup, its 'view' is obstructed.
I ended up mounting the radar detector and mount upside down, which is an option - however, with the escort detectors slanted face, when it is upside down, it now tilts away from the driver. Buttons and vol controls are also reversed. Just makes things a little awkward.
The support neck of the base needs redesigned to accomodate the slant of a windshield.
